The CubCare Paediatric Bed brings new levels of functionality and comfort. This dynamic lengthening bed features adjustable Perspex sides and integrated weighing scales to allow for much better visibility and monitoring.  The length of the CubCare is adjustable from 160 to 200cm, making it suitable for use by patients of a much wider age and size range.  The bed rails are also BS EN 50637:2017 compliant.

Adjustability

Key features of the bed’s adjustment capabilities include:

• Motorized Back Section: The back section is adjustable from 0 to approximately 71 degrees.
• Motorized Femoral Section: The femoral section can be adjusted from 0 to 30 degrees.
• Leg Section Adjustment: The leg section can be moved using a gas spring, synchronized with the leg section, offering an adjustment range of 0 to 35 degrees.
• Height Adjustment Column: The bed’s height is adjustable, providing flexibility in patient positioning.
• Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg: These positions are achieved through motorized telescopic columns.

Bed Extension

The length of the CubCare is adjustable from 160 to 200cm, making it suitable for use by patients of a much wider age and size range.  For accommodating taller paediatric patients, the dynamic lengthening bed includes a 400 mm bed extension, ensuring that patients of various sizes can be comfortably cared for.

Removable Headboard and Footboard

The headboard and footboard shoulders are designed for quick removal, thanks to a lightweight yet robust mechanism. This feature facilitates easy access and maintenance.

Transparent Side Barriers

The height adjustable side barriers are made from transparent Perspex, allowing for easy supervision of young patients. These barriers are equipped with handles that include integrated levers for convenient movement.

Integrated Weigh Scales

The weighing system is an integral part of the bed structure, designed to meet the stringent metrological requirements outlined in NAWI 2014/31/EU. This system is equipped with advanced features for precise weight measurement and management, all presented on a 10.1″ HD touch screen with a wide 160° viewing angle.

Key Features:

1. Weight Display: The weight measurement is presented on the 10.1″ touch screen, which also controls the bed’s movements.
2. Low Voltage Power: The system operates on low voltage power and is enclosed in a plastic box with IP65 insulation for safety.
3. User-Friendly Interface: The system includes a Soft Touch Button to activate the screen and offers a POST (Power-on Self Test) feature for reliability.
4. Weight Management: It provides features for managing weight measurements, including a countdown for weight loss, a full-scale limit, and a scale stabilizer. Weight loss, patient exit, and programmed maintenance alarms are available.
5. Battery and System Information: Users can monitor the battery status, receive system updates, and access patient identification data, as well as the patient’s assigned bed location.
6. Automatic Zero and Tare: The system automatically resets to zero when switched on, and it offers automatic and manual tare functions, which are always visible.
7. Weight Recording: The system records both initial and final weights, automatically transmitting the data to the USB and Ethernet ports with Checksum protection.
8. Weight Loss Tracking: It provides graphical and numerical displays for weight loss, including duration, delta, and countdown.
9. Unit of Measurement: Users can select between kilograms (kgs) and pounds (lbs) as the preferred unit of measurement.
10. Triple Scale Display: Depending on the bed’s capacity, the system automatically adjusts the minimal weight division for precise measurements.a. For a max load capacity of 200 kg, the minimal division is 20 g up to 60 kg, 50 g up to 150 kg, and 100 g up to 200 kg.b. For a max load capacity of 300 kg, the minimal division is 20 g up to 60 kg, 50 g up to 150 kg, and 100 g up to 300 kg.
11. Data Converter: Utilizes a 24-bit, 10,000 DIVISIONS converter for accurate data handling.
12. Connectivity and Interfaces: The system supports various interfaces, including Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi (optional). It also provides a BT and Wi-Fi connection.
13. Additional Functions: It offers features such as a screen saver, night mode, and a PASSIVE MOBILISATION Program. Six motors can be individually or simultaneously activated using the PUSH&GO motors system.
14. External Device Control: Users can connect up to four external devices (e.g., lamps, electric bells, operator advisories) to the system.
15. Communication and Control: The system facilitates communication between multiple indicators through Ethernet and Wi-Fi. It also includes a check app for Android, iOS, Windows, and GBSmart for remote parameter control.
16. Maintenance and Security: Features like programmed maintenance, tampering protection, access registers, and error handling are incorporated. Users can request assistance using the call button and perform remote maintenance and tare verification (only with digital load cells).
17. Language and Labeling: The system supports multiple languages, including English, Italian, German, Spanish, and French. It also provides a digital identifying label for easy identification.

Functional and Durable Design

The bed features a reinforced frame constructed from high-performance painted steel. The paint used is thermosetting and contains antibacterial properties, enhancing the overall hygiene of the bed.  There is a total absence of mechanisms and lever systems beneath the bed surface. This design choice ensures efficient sanitation by eliminating hidden areas where dirt or contaminants can accumulate.

The base features a thermoformed ABS cover, which adds durability and contributes to the bed’s clean and hygienic design.

Ergonomic Patient Surface

The patient surface is ergonomic and covered with High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) panels, making it easy to sanitize, further contributing to a clean and safe environment.

The height of the bed’s lying surface is 565 mm. This height is ideal when motorized columns and an integrated weighing system are in use, ensuring both functionality and comfort.

Emergency Power Supply

The bed incorporates an emergency power supply system that relies on rechargeable batteries. These batteries provide power for up to 10 cycles, ensuring continuous functionality even during power outages.

High Load Wheels

The bed is equipped with high-load wheels, facilitating easy movement even when a patient is on the bed. Importantly, these wheels require no greasing, reducing maintenance requirements.

Safety & Emergency Features

The bed is designed with a commitment to safety and health, and is compliant with all relevant safety standards. It is latex and phthalates-free, addressing concerns related to patient allergies and sensitivities.
